Situated in the heart of Norwich on a bustling pedestrianised street linking the historic Norman Castle with the infamous Norwich Market, The City Bookshop is an independent family run bookshop with over 30 years experience in the book trade. We sell new, remaindered, second-hand and antiquarian books on a range of subjects including Local History (Norwich, Norfolk, Suffolk and The Broads), Art, Children's, Cookery, History, Military, Ornithology, Topography, Transport to name but a few. You can browse our large selection of books which are aesthetically displayed, in a relaxed environment away from the hustle and bustle from outside whilst our experienced staff are always there should you need them.

Working with local historians and collectors, we regularly exhibit local memorabilia in our upstairs exhibition room including ‘The Pubs and Breweries of Norwich’, ‘The Boot and Shoe Industry’ and ‘More than a century of style’. With its high ceilings and large Georgian windows, this is the ideal venue to keep the history of Norfolk alive.

We also stock greeting cards, gift wrap, local DVD’s and local prints including a large selection of Ladbrooke's Churches.
