• when you entered a competition on one of our websites, or with one of our brilliant partners, such as World Book Day or Edinburgh International Book Festival 
• when you searched for local bookshops on the National Book Tokens site
• when you purchased a gift card online
• when you signed up to our former rewards and email programme, Caboodle

We take your personal data very seriously and will never share it with anyone else, unless stated. For more information, you can read our privacy policy. You can unsubscribe using the link in any of our emails.

It's really easy! Simply log in, click 'Forgot / create password', and then follow the link in the email we send you.

You don't need a password to enter our competitions, browse our website, or to receive our emails, but it makes using our site much easier and quicker. For example, you can enter our competitions with one click, manage your communication preferences and your local bookshop update settings, and order National Book Tokens gift cards and Bookily gift cards online. 

We take your personal data very seriously. So that we can protect it, we ask you to create a password if you want to access your personal information online (for instance, update your profile, address and interests).

If you place a Bookily order, you need a password so that you can view and manage your recurring payments. For other types of gift cards, you can check out as a guest (although would need to create a password if you wanted to then view and manage these orders online).

Check that you’re opted in to receive these emails by logging into your account and visiting your profile where you can change your communication preferences. In your profile, you can also edit the locations for which you’d like to receive local offers and events – try adding a different location, or setting a wider distance (you can set this to search within 1, 5, 10, 25 or 50 miles).

If you’re opted in but still not receiving any emails, it could be that your local bookshop hasn’t added any. To check, you can do a search on our website.

If you’d prefer to stop receiving our emails, simply use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or log in to your account and go to your profile.

We respect your Right to Access (the right to see what personal data of yours we hold and process, and why) and your Right to be Forgotten (the right to have your personal data erased from our systems). 

You may request to know which personal information we store, or that we remove your personal data, using the contact form below. 

If you request for your personal data to be erased, we will remove it from our systems and any third party systems we use. To ensure that the request is coming directly from the person whose data is being removed, please contact us using your email address signed up to our newsletter and/or website. We will reply to your original request and you will need to confirm that you are the named person and would like to proceed. We will then remove your data within 30 days of the reply being received and you will receive confirmation automatically by email once your data has been removed.
